The Walk

How are you doing on this walk, your journey of life? The above image is so lovely and reminds me of my ideal stroll in nature. Yet I am not sure it adequately represents my walk of life. My walk, like yours, will probably have far more twists, turns, uphill climbs and quick descents. Much of the terrain is rocky or slippery, maybe even filled with quick sand. The sky above is not always framed in a lovely canopy of luscious trees, much of the time I only see the pale dry air of the dessert. Oh how difficult some days seem. And then wa la! Just when I am about to give up, I round a corner to behold the majesty of a beautiful scene on the horizon.
I used to very naively assume that everything in life was just a matter of planning and figuring out. Now I know more than ever before that I should adhere to James 4:15: “Instead you ought to say, If it is the Lord’s will, we will live and do this or that.”
What I think is not always what God thinks. My ideas are not always HIS ideas. Beautiful scenery is not always the plan for the day. Oh but how we wish it was. It is difficult to trust that we are on the right road when the scenery does not line up with the hopes and dreams deep in our hearts. Remember that our roots grow deepest when we are in the valleys. There is a season and a purpose for everything.(Ecclesiastes 3)
Today let me encourage you to look around taking stock of where you are right now.
Are you on the path or did you venture off on your own way?Are you feeling as if you cannot keep your footing?
What do you need?
What have you forgotten?
Maybe you simply need to get back to the Word more.
Maybe you need a little time out for yourself, a little self-care.
It could be it is time for an evaluation of how you are spending your time.
Look around, you will know right away what you need, if you are completely honest with yourself & with God.
My hope and prayer for you is that you take a moment, just pause, and give this some thought. God will reveal what He needs to your heart.
Love & Blessings as we travel this road together,Sherry
